Why is it that I never do what I planned on doing?

Today I was going to tackle the cubby holes above the closets in both bedrooms and sort through that stuff. Instead I've found myself sorting through pictures and the like as well as other stuff that was in the hutches in the living room. I've spent all day doing that and the place is more of a mess now than when I started. I did have a very happy occurrence though. I found my chopsticks that I brought back from China. I thought the box was red which might explain how I've missed finding them in the past since the box is in fact grey, green and blue. I've been looking for these things for at least a year - probably longer. I knew they had to be here SOMEWHERE. You find all sorts of neat things when you actually sort through your stuff and attempt something that resembles organizing it.
