Movies, books, sewing, etc.
Aug. 7th, 2004 10:33 amYou people write too much...it took me forever to read through all of your posts!
Went and saw Borne Supremacy last night. It was okay - dragged in a couple of places. It wasn't as good as the first one or as good as the previews made it look. Speaking of which, I'm sick of previews using scenes that then don't even make it into the movie. If you're going to use it in the preview you ought to include it in the movie. They should make that a law or something. :p
Also rented 13 Going on 30 on Thursday. That is an awesome movie! Sheer entertainment and a little bit of that sappy romantic stuff us women like from time to time. Plus wonderful 80s nostalgia! :) Jennifer Garner is so adorable! And she seems like a genuinely nice person.
Plans today include going over to my Grandma's this afternoon. My Uncle Gary and Aunt Emilie are in town from Maryland (near D.C.) plus my parents are over there. Might also take a short trip from there over to see Grandpa at the nursing home, but not sure if we'll bother. It's not like he knows it's us...which is sad, depressing and something I'd rather avoid anyway. Yes, avoidance is my chosen coping method always!
I've been reading Red by Ted Dekker. Thank you
radiojedi for introducing me to this author. Black and Red have both been awesome. I'm going to be impatiently waiting for the 3rd book to come out. :)
I've recently decided that I want to try sewing my own renaissance garb. My husband is scared because he knows I get cranky when things don't go just right and while I do know how to sew, I'm not what you would call advanced and my sewing machine doesn't exactly work 100% the way it is supposed to. (Reverse is difficult to achieve and the bobbin winder doesn't work.) This should be an adventure. Maybe I'll have it done in time for next year...or the year after. I've always just gone to ren fest in plain clothes before because I can't in a million years justify spending that much money on clothes I'd wear a few times a year at most. Making my own clothes would be substantially less expensive.
