Just a bunch of random thoughts
Mar. 30th, 2004 10:50 pmMy brother gets back from Nepal tonight...I think it's tonight. Well anyway, he will be back very soon and I can't wait to see all the pictures he's sure to have and hear about what happened while he was over there. He was helping Women Acting Together for Change (WATCH) set up a resource center over there. He currently lives in Grayling (3 1/2 hours away) but is very shortly moving to Augusta (20 minutes away) to start his new job as the director of the library in nearby Delton. I am very happy about that...my brother and I are pretty close.
Apparently Guardians of Order is buying the Amber DRPG from Phage Press which will be no more. There is some talk of a D20 version of play...but this would be in addition to and separate from a 2nd edition of the diceless version and supplemental materials for said diceless version.
My uncle is still in the hospital...it's been about 2 weeks now. All I keep hearing is that he is bad, things don't look good, etc. I get the impression that it is just a matter of time, but I hope I'm wrong.
jesterstear - It was nice talking to you tonight. I almost watched 24 when America's Next Top Model wasn't on...but then I figured I'd just be lost at this point...and I hadn't posted on LJ yet. Hope you thoroughly enjoyed your 24 fix! :) Whenever you remember whatever it was that you wanted to ask me but couldn't remember...just shoot me an e-mail or post.
I'm going to have a bit less time on my hands in the near future so no one be surprised if you see a little less of me around LJ for a while. Chances are I'm still reading but lacking time to comment. This is for the following reasons:
1. Work asked me today if I had enough to do - darn my honest nature - I told them I didn't.
2. My friend David is running an Amber PBEM (that's play by e-mail for you non-gamers) for me. I've never done a PBEM before and David was kind enough to offer to run a small one as a friendly/safe environment for a newbie like me with his wife and one other friend of his playing too. This is going to eat up a little of my time. I'm really excited, but a little nervous too...it's been a long time since I've gamed at all and I've never done PBEM before.
3. I need to write. I have several story possibilities running through my head and it's getting full in there. Must vomit one or more of them into a short story so I can make room for other things in my brain or I might loose something important I needed to remember. I have been toying with the idea of trying my hand at writing (you know, in the serious, trying to get published, kind of way) for some time now and need to stop letting my fears and insecurities get in the way and just start...because what you never start you are guaranteed to never finish.
Well, it's bedtime so I will catch you all later.
