Dec. 20th, 2004 07:33 amMy Uncle Al who has been fighting brain cancer these many months passed away yesterday morning. Just over two weeks ago he took a major turn for the worse and went into a Hospice facility - he had been at home up until then. The medical personnel warned that when it happened it would happen fairly quickly.
My dad (who called and told me) said that Aunt Barb sounded almost relieved when she called to tell my mom/her sister (who wasn't home and my dad took the call) the news. I can completely understand that. I know it's been stressful for me knowing that he was going to die and just waiting for the inevitable and being powerless to stop it - I'm sure it's been sheer hell for her and their 3 boys and their families.
The funeral will be Wed.
