I've decided to make a list of all the good things that came out of Dave breaking up with me.

1. I've had time to focus on getting settled into my new house.
a. I've had the time to be there for my cat and help her make the transition to living in the new house.
b. I had the time to re-finish the entertainment unit I purchased - I know myself, if I hadn't refinished it now it never would have happened.

2. I'm learning to discover who I am as a person instead of trying to mold myself into who I think someone else wants me to be. I don't think I even realized I was repeating this mistake with Dave until a while after he broke up with me. This realization has also allowed me to let go of some of the pain that Dave rejected me - because he didn't reject ME, he rejected the person who I was trying to be which was not me - I need to figure out who ME is.

3. I'm taking the time to find a new church which will mean new friends and a greater network of support.

4. I'm taking the time to work on enriching my relationships with the girlfriends I already have in the area.

5. I've had more time to spend with my brother, my mother, my grandma, and a few other family members.

6. I am now quite certain that I did not leave Rick just to be with Dave because I have not gone running back to Rick now that Dave is out of the picture. Yes, I'm quite certain the divorce was the right thing for me.

7. As an introvert I am truly enjoying a little alone time. I'm recharged, more energetic and more content.

8. I have time to get back on my home physical therapy routine and be better about that. I haven't actually done this one yet because there's no room yet to set up my treadmill and total gym, but once I get a little more settled this WILL happen.
