To stave off boredom while Rick is out gaming with Dave and the rest of the group I rented Bubba Ho-Tep which I have been meaning to see for a while but which Rick didn't seem too keen on watching. It was hilarious! Rick would probably have fallen asleep during it since the first 35 minutes or so are a little slow before the action starts taking off. What a premise! Sometimes I'm still amazed by the things people dream up - not often, but sometimes. It's nice to see something really original for a change. And Bruce Campbell was great as an aging Elvis...I always like his work. He cracks me up!

I finally saw The Village. Wow, that was not at all what I expected. The previews made it look so incredibly scary, but it wasn't really when all was said and done. Still, it was an excellent film.

Also finally saw Lost in Translation. Don't understand what the big deal was with that one. It was an okay movie, but not that great - not sure why it got so much hype. Rick fell asleep about 20 minutes into the movie and if I had been tired I might have too. As it is, since I was awake and had nothing better to do I watched the entire thing and was mildly amused in places.

You must go see this movie! It was awesome! It was at least as good as the first one - possibly even better, I still haven't made my mind up on that one. As I settled into my chair at the movie theater at 9:30 last night I had the fleeting thought that I was giving up good sleep to see this movie and chances were that I was going to be disappointed - how could something live up to all the hype? Blade Trinity lives up to all the hype and then some! There was a lot of really sweet new weaponry and gadgets, lots of great fight scenes and some lovely explosions (have I ever mentioned how much I enjoy large explosions?) Dominic Purcell as Dracula - brilliant casting! I wasn't quite sure in the beginning that Parker Posey was the best choice for Danicia, but by the middle of the movie she had grown on me. Jessica Biel as Abigail Whistler was awesome. Ryan Reynolds as Hannibal King makes you laugh in all the right places. And then there was the pomeranian - freaking hilarious - you'll have to watch the movie to find out why, I'm not going to spoil it.
